7-13-09...remember?

Today was an Ezri day. Ezri came over to play and we decided to go swimming. We've alwasy LOVED swimming, Ezri and me...We've been swimming buddies since before we could walk! Look - here we are way back in 2007.
Mama says, "You know you're still a little baby when you sleep with your butt up in the air." She says she remember when Memphis used to sleep like this. Mama I am still your little baby!!!!

7-12-09...Marylou's 1st car show

Mama and Daddy took us to the car show in Simsbury that we go to every year. We used our new Sit N Stand stroller again (thanks Grama and Pop!) and we were riding in style!
I found this little car. I said, "Little teddy bear. It's sh-funny." Mama looked and sure enough, there was a little teddy bear there inside the car. Duh Mama. I told you so!

The ya-yas and hot rods were so shiny - I could see Mensmus!

I even found my favorite letter...M! M for Mensmus. M for Mayloo. M for Mama.

I liked this color!

...and I liked how Memphis was such a good big brother to me. He kept peeking back and patting me to make sure I was okay.

When we got home I played pretend with my car and lined them up - just like at a car show. Only I am very clever and lined them up like a rainbow, all by myself. Mama watched me. I just kept singing the song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse over and over to help me line them up right. "Red, orange, yellow...clap, clap...green, blue, purple!" Who says 2-year-olds don't learn from watching TV?

...and I was looking so cute in my lemon outfit that Mama couldn't resist taking some photos of me. Give me lemons and I turn it into lemonade - I'm so sweet!

7-10-09...

I can really grab hold of these toys now!...it's hard work.

I went to Michael's 2nd birthday party today. He had my three of my favorite things there...a swimming pool, KIDS to play with, and CAKE!!!

7-8-09...tongue un-tied

Well Mama and Daddy took me to Long Island New York to the very best of the best, Dr. Betty Coryllos. She is the very doctor who actually discovered my type of tongue tie - just 9 years ago. I did indeed have what they call a 4th degree tongue tie - which is the furthest back, at the very base of my tongue. She also agreed that the frenulum to my upper lip was much too tight. Mama swaddled me up, Dr.Coryllos put some numbing stuff on me, Daddy held my body, Mama held my head, then Dr.Coryllos went snipitty snip snip - and I was all fixed. Oh, don't kid yourself. It wasn't QUITE that easy in person...but Dr.Coryllos was AMAZING! Just a few minutes after the procedure I was already sticking my tongue out and about and wiggling it all around. Mama says she notices a difference in my latch already - YAY!
Here I am right after the procedure - I sure was tuckered out!

When we got home I rested all wrapped up in my Miracle Blanket - GOSH I love this thing.

upper lip frenulum - BEFORE - see how tight it was?
AFTER - that's much better!
Mama doesn't dare lift up my tongue yet to get a good picture, but it is much better too.
THANK YOU for all your prayers and well wishes. It feels special to be so loved and cared for!

7-4-09...happy 4th

Me and Mama were in a 4th of July parade with Ezri's family! We rode on a float that was pulled by a tractor and I got to throw CANDY!!!! That was my favorite part. Marylou stayed with Daddy, Meme, and Auntie Stefie - they had fun too! They said seeing ME was the best part. I threw them candy.

Later we went to fireworks. I wasn't so sure about them.
I loved them!!!

New Tricks!

I have started rolling over (kind of). When Mama puts me on my belly she pushes my arms underneath me (this is the CORRECT positioning...go Birth to Three) which helps me lift my head better. It also makes it much easier for me to roll onto my back. All I have to do is tuck and lean - and boy do I like to!
Ready...Get set...
GO!!!!!...whoa.

And I am really pretty much potty trained! YAY!!!! I haven't had an accident in days (I bet Auntie DD and Uncle Karl really miss those days...sorry again about your rug...but you are the ones that distracted me by leaving Wall-E toys about...so you kind of asked for it...)
The most recent hump in my potty training story was that I REFUSED to go poopy on the potty. One day Mama took me to the store and let me pick out 15 or so Matchbox cars and airplanes. I was SO excited! But then she went and put them all in a bag and said I couldn't have any until I went poopy on the potty. She said every time I poopied on the potty I could have a present. I didn't like this one bit! I had a bit of a tantrum and creid, "I NEED one! I NEED one!" But Mama would not budge. Then the next day I started to poopy in my diaper and Mama could tell and rushed me to the potty...I went on the potty and true to her word, I got to pick a present out of the bag. I picked a black and red airplane. Then I got it!

The very next day I poopied SEVEN times on the potty. Yup. I got SEVEN presents. How's that plan working out for you now Mama? Bet you didn't know all that poopy could fit in one little body. Expensive plan.

7-1-09...The Air Museum

I got to sit in a real helicopter!

There were so many airplanes to see (notice I am STILL wearing my gold medal!...)

June - Special Olympics

As some of you may remember, I was in early intervention for a speech delay from the time I was 18 months old to the time I turned 2 (I know, hard to believe, right?) ANYWAY, after they released me from the program they invited me to stay at my playgroup as a role model student for the other kiddos. Our whole class was invited to participate in the special Olympics! It was very challenging...

I had to run across the floor and pick up ONE turtle to put in a basket.

I did an obstacle course...over, under, jump, go through...

I had to throw a ball.

I had to kick a ball.

I had to hit a ball off a cone with a paddle.
I had to throw froggies into a basket.

It sure was tiresome!!!!

Good thing Baby Sister was there to support me. Go Memphis!

At the end I got a gold medal!!!!! I shouted, "GOLD MEADOW - I juss like Aussin!" (Austin from the Backyardigans won a gold medal when he ran a race!)

pirate party

Meme had a pirate party for me to celebrate the coming of summer (and being 2 1/2). We played on my bounce house, we played outside, ate dinosaur cake, and had a Lightning McQueen pinata (which was unbreakable!) I was so very excited about it. For the days leading up to it my mantra was..."a pirate party...josh and evan...ezri...matt...dinosaur cake...go in a bounce house...two half!" I just kept saying it over and over. Even Marylou joined in the fun.
